Why Humix? Our Purpose:

Who are “we”? 

Humix.org is a community comprised of individuals in intrinsically motivated transformation/development, searching for a way to co-create as part of the process of self-transformation in order to empower humanity evolution / and to inspire “exponential creativity”. 

What do we do?

Because many of us are on a journey to find, cocreate and consciously shape a new Human(ity) Ideal, that is positive and optimistic in the age of fast-pace change driven by exponential technology. Due to the immense complexity of the world, systems we create(d) and the human nature, we cannot do such work alone, although the core of this work is individual. Hence, through a 5-days Humix Social Art Impact convention during Berlin Art Week 2018, this community has emerged - searching alongside 3 dimensions throughout different events, projects and initiatives in order to …

Are we a platform, a community or a network?

It can be some of it, all of it BUT it also can be something else — Humix.org is whatever it is (needed to be) FOR ME, FOR YOU and FOR US. Because everyone is going through a process of self-transformation it’s not very relevant to define the WHAT we are as it changes with people participating, but to be clear and align on WHY we are part of this process and community. Hence: we connect through the questions we have individually and collectively. We artistically transform polarities into tension/ energy/ material resulting in a social sculpture balancing:

  • Individual … Community

  • Freedom … Rules

  • Giving … Receiving 

What is a community? 

When it comes to this question, we highly recommend reading this article by a fellow HumiXer and Sandboxer Daniel Ospina - “The difference between Communities, Groups, and Networks”. In a nutshell: communities require a high amount of trust and shared belief/values. In other terms - “communities happen at the intersection of a network and a group. When the individuals of a network share a set of common belief and behaviour, a network can take on an identity.”

How are we organized?

Humix is a Community, focused on Community-Innovation Process. We operate based on the values defined below and follow the questions defined above. 

Everyone how is individually working in entrepreneurial way, we call Humanity-driven entrepreneur. With this we mean Humanity developed and cocreated through this HumiX community-innovation process.

We operate based on the “honey pump” principle as introduced by Joseph Beuys - everyone works individually, in groups, in parallel intrinsically motivated and without central guidance/orchestration.

We love the idea of “decentral servant leadership” team based on the enspiral handbook open source organizational and Sandbox community design. We find boundary-spanning leadership concept inspiring.

When and where to meet Humix? 

We are a distributed autonomous organization with HQ in Berlin, thus most of the recommended events are centered around Berlin at the moment.

Besides the regular co-creation moments mentioned above, our community creates and curates many events to help establishing a joint understanding of Humix big picture, present progress and achieve more integrated work

Humix Events help connecting individuals and initiatives in a physical space, to foster “organic” connections to catalyse impact and to jointly shape a positive vision for humanity future

Spaces are community co-creation spaces where Humix network can meet up and work based on defined working principles.

Evaluate 3+1 questions to create significant impact:

1) Is the problem big in scale? 

e.g. If solved, how many people would be helped or how much long-term benefit would be created?

2) Is the problem neglected? 

e.g. Focus on less popular issues due to diminishing marginal impact as more capital floats into an area

3) Is the problem solvable?

e.g. Do you know a unique solution or have unique resources to find one?
